Jasmin Bailey is a Canadian musician, singer/songwriter.
Jasmin was born in Montreal to singer/songwriter, Maureen Bailey, and trumpeter, Ralph Beckles. Her parents were the inspiration for her art and the mold that fashioned her musical styles and appreciation.
She first started singing at the young age of 4, gracing the stage of churches and concert halls. Throughout her teen years, she was known as (The Wedding Singer) and also performed at Banquets and Galas. Her singing voice eventually took her from Gospel and R&B to Jazz, as she began working with some of Toronto's top professional recording Producers. Richard Uglow, a composer, producer, and husband, exposed Jasmin's voice to the world of Jazz. She's worked on projects at recording studios such as Studio 92, Thunder Dome Sounds, including The Canterbury Music Company where she did her first jingle for Credit Canada, entitled Reverse The Blues / Credit Canada Debt Solutions Inc.
Jasmin has performed at many of Toronto's best Jazz venues such as The Rex, Gate 403, The Orbit Room, The Home Smith Bar, AlleyCatz, The Baycrest Gala, Voices of the nations concerts at Nathan Philip and Mel Lastman Square just to name a few. Her vocals have been lent to many songwriter's compositions in different languages and different genres. Her music can be found on radio stations such as C.B.C. radio, Smooth Indie Star, iTunes-Music and Smooth-Jazz. She is hosted on various online music avenues such as Merchant Murango RECORDS, CDBABY, URBAN LAUNCH PAD, Toronto Star-ENTERTAINMENT, NOISEHEAD, CD Universe, GREAT INDIMUSIC, Air Play DIRECT, bebo and midomi, just to name a few. Jasmin is recognized as a vocalist and musician for her Contemporary Jazz contributions and has in the past released a Rhythm & Blues, Contemporary Folk Singles, and a Gospel album. She worked as a vocal coach at the Music For Life Conservatory for seven years and also works at some of Toronto's professional recording studios with producers and upcoming artist in the industry.
